It's worth noting these backups ahve a storage footprint in the repo of between 900Gb and 2.7Tb, so they're pretty chunky. I understand Synthetics use CPU also, but this server has dual Xeon E5-2643's in it, along with 64Gb RAM.Īm I missing something obvious? Some magic switch that makes sythetics run fast? As I right this, 3 agents are running synth fulls, one has been there for 24hours, one for 19hours and one for 18hours. I have backup agents (and hence sythetic full tasks) split pretty evenly across the 3 repos.īut I still get stuck with some agents synthetic fulls taking 1-2days to complete, whcih is just stupid when I'm meant to be comitting to 4 backup points per day per agent. 18.5Tb usable on each of the 3 arrays, each array makes up 1 backup repo in VBR. ![]() I have a fairly robust storage solution, the VBR server has 2x dual port 6gbps HBA's in it (4 separate 6Gbps SAS links), currently I ahve 3x HPE Disk Shelves running at 6Gbps each, they all have 12x 2Tb 10k SAS disks in them, in RAID6. ![]() I have synthetic fulls spread out to run weekly with no more than 8 agents running synthetic fulls each day (currently) It just seems that every. Does anyone else have issues with Synthetic Full Backups taking in excess of 1.5 days to complete?
